FUNdamentals in Table Tennis

The Table Tennis FUNdamentals class is specifically for children aged under 8. At this age, most children will not be tall enough to sustain a full training session at the table. Therefore, the kids’ fundamental sessions are aimed at:

  • developing racket control and dexterity so that the child feels confident with handling the ball and racket
  • activities to improve aiming with the ball
  • enhancing hand-to-eye coordination which is essential in table tennis
  • strength and flexibility exercises to prepare the child for table work
  • body coordination exercises aimed at specific table tennis movements
  • introduction to ball spin and rotation
  • introduction to table work by basic exercises and ball control movements
