3rd Training Camp: Malta Table Tennis Skills

A fruitful collaboration with Diego Jassan

From the 1st to the 3rd of November 2024, Alpha TTK hosted the third of five training camps from the project Malta Table Tennis Skills. This camp was led by the experienced and highly-regarded coach, Diego Jassan. This camp marked a significant halfway milestone in the Malta Table Tennis Skills project. It provided a much-needed boost to the club’s summer preparations. Furthermore, it set the stage for a strong start to the new season.

Diego Jassan is a familiar face at Alpha TTK. He has been an integral part of the club’s coaching team for the past three years. His deep understanding of the sport and his ability to connect with players of all levels make him an invaluable asset to the club.

The training camp offered a comprehensive training program, focusing on technical skills, tactical awareness, reaction work and mental preparation. Players of all ages and abilities had the opportunity to learn from Diego’s expertise and refine their game.

The camp not only improved the players’ technical skills but also fostered a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork. The intensive training sessions, combined with fun and engaging drills, created a positive and motivating learning environment.

With the new season 2024/25 underway, Alpha TTK is excited to keep on building on the momentum generated by this successful training camp.

The Malta Table Tennis Skills Project

The project Malta Table Tennis Skills: funded through the Voluntary Organisations Project Scheme managed by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector supported by the Ministry for Inclusion and the Voluntary Sector (MIV). The project will organize a series of five training camps over a period of one year. All camps are held at the ALPHA TTK training hall and are led by foreign coaches who are qualified in the area. The project will ensure a wider local reach amongst the athletes, create more activity at the club, increase the skill set of the players and also of the coaching staff, include persons who do not have the monetary backing to travel, encourage more people to start the sport of table tennis, and bring together the club community in working for this specific aim.
