The 13th Open Table Tennis Tournament at ALPHA TTK: A Smashing Success
Once again, ALPHA Table Tennis Klabb has organised another successful open tournament at the training hall in Mosta. The 13th Open tournament was a thrilling showcase of skill, sportsmanship, and excitement! Held over the 20th & 21st April 2024 weekend, the tournament attracted a diverse group of participants, ranging from seasoned players to enthusiastic rookies. The competition was fierce across all four events: Category 1, Category 2, Category 3, and the Rookies Event.
Category 1: Top-10 Ranked
Category 1 featured the most skilled and experienced players, delivering fast-paced and high-energy matches. In the end, it was Isaac Portanier Mifsud who emerged victorious, demonstrating exceptional control on his defensive skills combined with strong attacks to claim the title.
Category 2: Ranks 11 to 20
Category 2 featured intense rallies and hard fought matches. Asim Eryilmaz stood out with his remarkable consistency, ball control and counter attacks, earning him the top spot in this category.
Category 3: Competitive Spirit
Category 3 saw a mix of competitive spirit and determination as participants vied for the win. The matches were a proof of the hard work and dedication that each player is investing in the sport. Daniel Parascandalo clinched the victory in this category, showcasing a strong all-around game that proved too much for his opponents.
Rookies Event: Newcomers Shine
The Rookies Event was another highlight of the 13th Open Tournament. The rule here is that participants do not receive formal coaching with ALPHA TTK or with any other club. The enthusiasm here was contagious. Pablo Sanchez captured the title in the Rookies Event.
