Rachel Mifsud together with the team from A.S.D. T.T. Ausonia Enna competed in the play-offs for promotion to the Italian Serie A2. The team had 3 impeccable performances and is now deservedly promoted to Serie A2 Femminile.

The play-offs were held in Terni, Italy at the FITET National TT Centre. The team was drawn in a group together with the South Tyrolean ASC TT AUER ORA (leaders of the Serie B), TECO FOODLAB from Cortemaggiore (Piacenza) and TENNISTAVOLO CASPER from Reggio Calabria.

These are the final standings of the play-off group.

In the first 2 encounters, under the guidance of Coach Vasil Hristozov, the girls beat the South Tyrolean team with the score of 4-1. The same result (4-1) was registered vs the team from Piacenza. With these partial results at the end of the 1st day of competition, the team Ausonia Enna was already mathematically sure of the promotion.

The following day, Ausonia played vs team Casper from Reggio Calabria. Here the 3rd win of the play-offs was secured with a 4-2 final score. For this match Coach Hristozov was assisted by MTTK Coach Katia Mifsud.

The team is composed of the highly experienced Yuliya Markova and young star Martina Tirrito. Both players emerged as unbeaten all through the tournament. Maltese athlete Rachel Mifsud, from MTTK, debuted with the team this season. Giada Viola also formed part of the team.
